- Continually update your content and make it easy to read

In order for people to see your blog they must find it! You have to make it search-engine friendly by doing this you should have clear headlines that will get easily recognized by Google’s search results, also your headlines should sum-up your overall story, but make it interesting and engage the reader emotionally!  You can also make your blog search engine friendly by using labels/tags, use key words that your post is based on!

- Visit events that relate to your area

Use existing social media that can help promote your blog, every post you make you need to spread the word across other social networking sites for maximum interest. Even use your existing email contacts and ask for feedback, ask your friends and family to take a look and encourage them to comment on your post as the more comments you get, the more likely other users are to express their views!

You can even offer to write a post on other people’s sites this will be an effective way of advertising as it will link users back to your blog.

Another effective way to market your blog is if you visit an event that relates to your area you can hand out cards or leaflets to generate interest towards your blog.

You can also submit your URL to a printed magazine or newspaper that mention new blogs and websites, this can generate a wide range of interest for you so it's worth a try!

You also want to encourage a form of community around your blog, reply to those who have commented on your posts this will encourage replies therefore more attention on your post! J
